Jason Wong

Health & Movement Coach

“My focus lies in working with everyday people from all walks of life and transforming their beliefs about what they can do and what they will achieve”

Jason is an avid bodyweight exercise ‘geek’ with a passion for training (‘levelling up’) in bodyweight exercise. He aspires to be able to problem solve progress in such activities and has a lifelong love hate relationship with the complexities of the everpresent and mysterious ‘back pain’ issues that plague the majority of society today. He is a firm believer that movement and strength training are key in achieving long term health in solving complex and persistent musculoskeletal pain problems.

As a self-confessed clumsy person, Jason is convinced that handstands in particular have helped him deal with being more mindful in daily life and, in particular, spatial awareness. Having come from a family of non-athletes, Jason identifies more with being the ‘solidly average’ person who firmly believes that ‘right approach, consistent effort’ will equate to results following. As someone who only became an ‘athlete’ later on in life, Jason aspires to learn new skills and hone the craft of coaching to be better at what he does daily. Thus, his focus lies in working with everyday people from all walks of life and transforming their beliefs about what they can do and what they will achieve.

What does work mean to you?

Fulfilling my purpose. Something that feels right to me and is something I’m excited to do and conversely, not something that I dread.

I enjoy what I do and believe it keeps me healthy

Many paths lead to el Dorado but they require a level of consistency and perhaps even conviction to stay on that very same path.

Just general physical training. A lot of handstands at the moment, flexibility training and a bit of barbell stuff

Not my sport but someone who embodies the right philosophy – Guthrie Govan. I think he’s a prime example of someone who doesn’t engage in attempting to validate ‘purpose’ in life but instead focuses on being his absolute best at his craft. Equally as important, he is kind to beginners.

Gaming, playing and listening to music, time spent daydreaming (very important)

Steak, pasta (carbonara) comes to mind finished off with a refreshing zesty salad
